Why "chai"?

I’ve seen a few posts explaining blog names, and  I’ve decided I should add a little rationale statement for mine, too.  Although I do like chai tea, “cupofchai” wasn’t exactly what I’d had in mind when brainstorming domain names.  I do, however, come from a long line of tea lovers.  In fact, by the tender age of five, my grandmother had me hooked on orange pekoe.  I still have the demitasse she let me use during these visits.  While my family no longer lives near my grandparents, we visit every summer, and, every year, the only thing my father insists on bringing back to Virginia are boxes of King Cole orange pekoe tea–at least ten of them. I swear, it’s a wonder that the border guards in Maine don’t ever question my father when they rip open the minivan doors to check for the usual contraband.  Anyway, to get to the point, I was hoping to purchase a domain name relevant to orange pekoe, but, being the cheapo I am, I couldn’t find a pekoe-related name I was willing to pay for.  So, cupofchai stuck, regardless of how sacrilegious it might seem to the Walker clan.
